My friend Dan and I went to the gym a couple days ago, and noticed a guy as big as a house and a big house at that. His head shaven, with earrings and tattoos. He was a bad looking dude. He had made a comment about my FBI shirt. I was not sure if he liked it or was bugged by it. So I left my friend Dan and started up a conversation with him. It didn’t start out good.
He thought that I was calling him stupid over the words on the shirt, which I was not. This guy was in a bad mood. But for some reason I could not back off. He told me, that he was a ex mafia enforcer, served time in jail, was a bouncer at a fight club in downtown San Diego and he didn’t like me standing so close to him. He said in the Big House, I would get a knife in the back for this. I apologized and laughed, and said I didn’t mean anything. He then told me why he was so angry. An employer was trying to cheat him out of money and he was getting ready to deal with it. It did not sound petty. Without asking him, I started praying out loud believng that the man was writing that check out right now, in Jesus’ name. I believe that broke the ice.
He stated that I could never guess how old he was. Without thinking I said 45. His eyes got big, and our friendship started. He stated that he was a Christian too. In fact before I left he offered that if anybody ever messed with me that he would take care of them. I thanked him. I believe the Holy Ghost set up that meeting. He may come down to our Oceanside pier event and who knows, I may get him to join the FBI in Jesus name. Pray for Ken, he is a good guy and he has a family. Remember, you are God’s representative on this earth and He has something for YOU to do today.

Art,
I really liked this story and am glad you posted it… I have been talking to Ken at the gym, actually yesterday and the day before…. he is a broken spirit and I have been keeping him in prayer… I can really tell he is reaching out… He has a boy about my sons age.. his mother whisked him away and moved him to another state..this has made Ken very bitter and alone. I really enjoyed this story becasue it proves no one is un-approachable…
Blessings,
Dan
